Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. WFH option after training.
This role will be held out of our Front Office 5719 Widewaters Parkway Syracuse location.
Job Responsibilities:
Pleasantly answers phones, and schedules patient’s appointments within SOS following physician guidelines in a variety of orthopedic specialties. Work to include accurately registering & updating patient demographics, insurance information in a timely manner.
Ability to take a high volume of incoming calls, ensuring excellent customer service to callers with the delivery of information and inquiry of specifics of one’s condition for scheduling purposes while being accurate in documentation.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of our insurance policies, properly inform patients of “par" status and referral requirements. Utilizes insurance information provided by our billing department/management team. Follows protocol for referral needs.
Consistently asks appropriate questions of new patients and schedules with appropriate SOS provider or transfers accordingly. Utilizes triage nurse as necessary when there is a question about appointment availability or urgent situations that arise.
A team player- professionally communicates well with others via phone, email correspondence & instant messaging. Responds to any scheduling or rescheduling needs of our Physicians or APP’s as notified by supervisor. Reschedules patients correctly & timely in system following scheduling guidelines.
Ensures the insurance information attached to the appointment is updated and informs patient of necessary requirements for their appointment such as (referral, insurance cards, electronic check in process, records, etc.).
Knowledge of Alterra (Allscripts), Veradigm system a plus; how it is utilized when dealing with registrations, appointment scheduling, referrals, etc.
Takes patient task messages according to protocol ensuring accuracy, correct grammar and spelling and completeness of information.
Pay Range: $17.00 to $24.00
