Patient Representative (Check-In/Phones) with Float Capabilities to Cover Other Locations

Work Week: Monday through Friday 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM

Hours may vary if floating. 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM/8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

This position will be working out of our 5719 Widewaters Parkway location.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Has the ability to comprehend instructions, communicate well, pay attention to details and the capability of handling a busy day while maintaining a calm disposition.
  • Be flexible with regards to going to different locations to cover other check-in areas, and answer phone calls for various subspecialties, within SOS.
  • Represents SOS in a positive manner, abiding by our CORE fundamentals.
  • Be able to handle a high call volume for our sub specialty phone queues, staying courteous, organized and upholds SOS scheduling guidelines when needed to cover phones.
  • Pleasantly checks in/ out and schedules patient’s appointments within SOS as needed. Work to include accurately inputting & updating patient demographic and insurance information in a timely manner, scan insurance cards, printing provider paperwork, daily reports, provides appropriate front desk forms to patients to fill out, and other secretarial type duties.
  • Maintains organized workspace and exhibits professional communication behaviors, having a strong ability to work well with others.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge and stays up to date on our insurance policies, properly inform patients of “par" status and referral requirements. Utilizes insurance information provided by our billing department/management team. Follows protocol for use of Waiver form and advises of patient portal.
  • If scheduling, appropriately asks questions of all patient, updating demographic information and schedules with appropriate SOS provider. Utilizes triage nurse as necessary when there is a question about appointment availability or if addressing a patient walking in. Responds to any scheduling or rescheduling needs of our Physicians as notified by supervisor. Reschedules patients correctly & timely in system and will alert patients checking- in if provider running late or need to reschedule.
  • Will obtain a thorough knowledge of Phreesia and Allscripts (Veradigm) and Altera E.HR system; how they are utilized when dealing with registrations, appointment scheduling, referrals, etc.
  • Takes patient task messages according to protocol ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
