Work Week: Full Time - Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
This position will be working out of our 5719 Widewaters Parkway, Syracuse NY location.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills on the phone with Referring Physicians or groups and utilizes the “Rapid Registration” policy. Promptly schedules appointments timely with appropriate SOS provider to satisfy the referring Physician via their fax, phone call or Direct Message through Electronic Health Record.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of SOS physician’s scheduling guidelines for timely and proper placement of appointments, exhibiting the ability to exercise good judgment, keeping in mind company policies and procedures as guidelines staying organized in the process.
- Represents SOS in a positive manner, having complete knowledge of SOS Physicians, Midlevels specialties and all ancillary services provided within SOS.
- Maintains organized workspace and exhibits professional communication behaviors.
- Exhibits excellent communication skills with referring provider offices, our Physicians, co-workers and patients. Utilizes triage as necessary when there is a question about appointment availability or same day add on’s. Advises PCP offices of patient needs for their SOS MD prior to their appt.
- Work includes accurately inputting & updating patient demographic and insurance information in a timely manner. Also includes communicating with the Physician/nursing staff, separating and sorting incoming fax referrals, working incoming electronic PCP referrals through Allscripts and Medent and Inbound documents, responding back to PCP via fax or direct message regarding details of appointments made and notify patient directly with appointment information.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of our insurance policies to properly inform patients of "par" status and referral requirements. Utilizes insurance information provided by our billing dept./management
- Thorough knowledge of Veradigm/Alterra and how it is utilized when dealing with registrations, appointment scheduling, referrals, etc.
