Todd C. Battaglia, MD, MS, of Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, PC, has been named to the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team Physician Pool
The U.S. Ski & Snowboard physician pool is comprised of approximately 200 licensed medical providers across numerous specialties who provide medical services to the U.S. Teams at training camps and competitions.
Physicians are scheduled annually to travel with a team to provide medical care and assistance to U.S. Ski & Snowboard athletes and staff at national and international competitions. Team physicians serve as the primary resource for the head coach, team therapists, trainers, and medical director regarding medical issues relating to an athlete’s ability to train or compete.
Once a physician is nominated, requirements for selection include qualification review and certification by the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Medical Committee and regular participation in U.S. Ski & Snowboard training courses, as well as completion of background screening every three years, and completion of Safe Sport and Anti-Doping Education.
