Dr. Todd Battaglia is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of sports injuries of all types, with a primary focus on arthroscopic surgery, open reconstructive surgery, and complex revision surgery of the knee and shoulder. This includes treatment of rotator cuff and instability problems of the shoulder, as well as ligament, cartilage, and meniscal injuries of the knee. He is the leading cartilage surgeon in central New York, with experience in meniscus and articular cartilage transplant and cartilage regrowth techniques. He is currently president of Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, PC, and serves as the head orthopedic surgeon for numerous area athletic programs, including Syracuse University, Le Moyne College, SUNY-ESF, Bryant and Stratton College, and the Syracuse Stallions professional basketball team. He is also an official orthopaedic provider for US Ski and Snowboard.

Dr. Battaglia is an active member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and the International Cartilage Research Society (ICRS). He has authored or co-authored more than 40 scientific articles and book chapters, and is a clinical instructor for AANA, teaching advanced arthroscopic methods to other physicians across the country. Dr. Battaglia is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons (ABOS), and is the only area physician to have also earned Subspecialty Board Certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine from the ABOS.
