Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists (SOS) will be expanding the hours of operation for SOS PLUS, a walk-in orthopedic medical clinic that treats patients with urgent orthopedic injuries and conditions. SOS Plus is located at 5719 Widewaters Parkway in Dewitt. Beginning January 22, SOS PLUS will be open weekdays from 12:45PM-4PM, and 5PM-8:30PM. It will also be open weekends from 9AM-1PM.
A walk-in clinic for urgent orthopedic injuries, SOS PLUS treats patients with acute orthopedic conditions requiring immediate attention. Patients are promptly diagnosed and treated at the walk-in clinic, avoiding costly and unnecessary visits to the emergency room. Typical orthopedic injuries treated at SOS PLUS include strains, broken bones, swollen joints, and sprains. SOS PLUS treats orthopedic medical conditions needing prompt attention but are not life threatening.
“SOS PLUS is another way that SOS provides complete orthopedic care to our community,” said Dr. Frederick Lemley, Medical Director of SOS PLUS and orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon. “It is staffed by certified physician assistants and nurse practitioners who specialize in orthopedic injuries and work with SOS board certified physicians who are available for necessary consultations.”
SOS accepts most insurances, including Excellus BCBS, and a full list can be found on our website here. It is open most days of the year, excluding New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. SOS PLUS treats patients ranging in age, with some restrictions, which can be found here.
